Scientific Computing bill’s monthly via iLab for SCU's High Performance Computing (HPC) storage.

Our Services

*For all new lab accounts on the cluster we charge 1TB lab fee of HPC Scratch Storage.

Storage type

  1. HPC Scratch Storage (Required)

    1. One terabyte (TB) of high performant parallel storage connected to SCU's research compute cluster. Data will sit on highly resilient storage, but is not backed up in any way and the user certifies that they are able to re-compute or reacquire all data on this storage tier.

      1. Billed monthly ($8.33/TB/month)

      2. /athena/<lab>/scratch

  2. HPC Backed Up Storage

    1. One terabyte (TB) of high performant parallel storage connected to SCU's research compute cluster. Data will sit on highly resilient storage similar to "HPC Scratch Storage", and data is backed up approximately nightly to the cloud, retained for a minimum of two weeks, and retrievals are made on a best-effort basis.

      1. Billed monthly ($16.66/TB/month)

Gitlab

SciComp has a subscription through ITS - xits-gitlabp.weill.cornell.edu:8443

  1. $125/ year -- Labs will be charged monthly at $10.42/month

Reservation

Researchers may reserve GPU node for specific jobs

  1. 2 GPU Reservation - BRB Cluster Only

    1. Price $140/week

    2. You will need to email scu (email-scu.med.cornell.edu) with a reason for reservation

      Requirement:Minimum reservation is 1 week

      This request is handled at the sole discretion of SCU based on node availability and demand.

  2. 4 GPU Reservation - AI Cluster Only

    1. Price $240/week

    2. You will need to email scu (email-scu.med.cornell.edu) with a reason for reservation

      Requirement:Minimum reservation is 1 week

      This request is handled at the sole discretion of SCU based on node availability and demand.

  3. CPU Reservation

    1. Price $140/week

    2. You will need to email scu (email-scu.med.cornell.edu) with a reason for reservation

      Requirement:Minimum reservation is 1 week

      This request is handled at the sole discretion of SCU based on node availability and demand.

RedCloud Instance

Red Cloud features the OpenStack platform and a variety of VM configurations (up to 28 cores and 240 of RAM). Unlike AWS and other public cloud CPU cores and RAM, Red Cloud's Intel CPU cores and RAM are not oversubscribed or shared with other users. Users have full access to the underlying Intel physical processor and memory without competition, resulting in fast and consistent performance. Nvidia GPUs are available as well.

 

Core hour usage is based on the number of CPUs in your instance configuration; for example, given your instance is running for one wallclock hour:

  • If you choose c1.m8 you will use 1 core hour(Example) 

  • If you choose c4.m32 you will use 4 core hours(Example) 

  • If you choose c14.g1.m60 you will use 14 core hours (Example) 

 

1CPU = $180 a year (which represents a 40% discount) 

Monthly charge will be based on number of CPUs per month (#CPUS*15).

Low cost deep back up storage that is accessible from the BRB login nodes for lesser used files
